问候(Greetings)

Hello! Hi!

用于熟人之间打招呼的用语。

 

Good morning/afternoon/evening.

Morning/Afternoon/Evening.

比较常见的正式问候语,但有时段的区别限制,有时候可以省略Good.

 

How do you do?

初次见面时的问候语,答句也要用How do you do?

 

How are you?

用于比较熟悉的人之间发出的礼节性问候,一般用I’m fine./Very well./OK/All right, thank you. And you?来回答。

 

How are you getting on (along) these days?

是“你最近过得怎样”的意思,一般与How are you?用法相同。

 

介绍与打招呼

(Introduction and greetings)

My name is … Your name, please?

当与陌生人见面时,向对方作自我介绍时的用语。

 

This is …/That’s …

Let me introduce … to you, please./

  Shall (May) I introduce … to you?

向别人介绍一个人时的用语:①表示“这位是……/那位是……;②表示“请让我给你介绍……

 

Nice/Glad to meet you.

介绍的回答用语。

 

告别

(Farewell)

I’m afraid we must/have to go now.

I think it’s time for me to leave now.

用于客人向主人告别时

 

Goodbye!

See you later/soon/tomorrow!

用于比较正式的场合

 

See you!/Bye!/Bye-bye!

非正式场合或亲友、熟人、朋友之间告别时的用语

 

See you here at two/tomorrow.

含有下一次约会的告别用语

 

Good night.

“晚安”是晚上的告别用语。Good evening.是晚上见面时相互的问候语,两者不可混用。

 

Remember me to your family, please.

I look forward to seeing you again.

这是表示祝愿、希望、祝贺和请人代为问候的用语,也常用于告别。①表示“请向你全家问好”;②表示“希望能再见到你。”

 

打电话

(Making telephone calls)

Hello! May/Can/Could I speak to …?

May I have a word with …?

Hello, is that…speaking?/

Is that you,…?/Is …in?

这几组是打电话的常用语,意为“请找……接电话”,“你是……吗?”“……在吗?”

 

Who's that?

Who’s calling/speaking?

主要是询问对方是谁,意为“你是哪一位?”询问对方只用that

 

Yes, this is … speaking.

… be in/here.

Sorry, … be out.

Hold on, please.

Can I take a message for you?

打电话的回答用语,注意在打电话用语中介绍自己用This is … (speaking),不能用I am …

Thanks./Thanks a lot./Many thanks.

It’s very nice of you.

表示感谢时的用语,这是英语中使用频率最高的致谢用语,几乎适用于任何场合,任何对象

 

Not at all.

That’s all right.

You’re welcome.

It’s a pleasure./My pleasure.

听到别人表示感谢时,用来表示客气地答复

 

Thank you all the same.

表示某事没办成或没有结果时的致谢语,“即使变样,还是要谢谢你。”

Good luck! / I wish you luck.

Have a good/nice time.

Good luck in the exams.

Best wishes to you.

Happy birthday to you.

向对方表示祝愿时的用语,回答用Thank you/Thanks.

 

Congratulations! /Well done!

表示对别人所取得的胜利、成果的祝贺,回答用Thank you. /Thanks.

 

Happy New Year! /Merry Christmas! / Have a good Spring Festival!

表示对公共节日的祝福
