　　Carpenters(卡彭特)实际上是一个兄妹组合，从1970年出道到1983年32岁的卡伦－卡彭特英年早逝，11年间他们一共出了多个专辑，成就了3张金唱片、5张白金专辑的业绩，并缔造了8首冠亚军歌曲、16首Top 20单曲的纪录。尤其70年代中他们佳作不断，成为无数美国青年的偶像，尼克松总统称卡彭特兄妹是最出色的美国青年。可惜的是卡伦－卡彭特为了保持身材的苗条，长期节食服用轻泻剂，1983年2月4日因神经性厌食症死于深爱她的父母怀中。
